HALEY, 28 // WATTS GROCERY - DURHAM, NC

My mom took this photo over a month ago after a phenomenally delicious lunch at Watts Grocery. The recent cold spell and lots of friend and family time over the holidays have kept me from taking many outfit photos recently. No worries though, I’ll have plenty more for you soon enough!

HALEY, 28 // AT HOME - RALEIGH, NC

This blog (and my personal blog at www.maestroandmuse.com) just wouldn’t be possible without my tripod. I took this on our deck after work yesterday with the timer. I love the scalloped knit on this cozy sweater from Kohl’s. My skirt and boots were both thrifted from Goodwill. I never really liked the tapestry trend when it first exploded last year but this particular pattern and color scheme really appealed to me. I’ll have to snap a photo of the tapestry and leather bucket bag Lydia picked up on our last Design Archives excursion - tis the season right?

HALEY, 28 // CAMERON VILLAGE - RALEIGH, NC

Evan took this photo of me outside Cameron Village yesterday. I love this vintage dress from Design Archives! The abstract pattern is so funky. Pairing it with these booties gives the outfit a really mod look but they’re still trendy enough to make it feel fresh. Evan thinks they look like “pilgrims landed on the moon” but that just makes me love them even more.

NATE, 29 // THE GREEN BEAN - GREENSBORO, NC

Our good friend Nate was kind enough to let me take his photo while we stopped into The Green Bean for coffee this weekend. He always managed to look clean cut and put together in simple basics like the dark wash jeans, black jacket, and grey hot ropes t-shirt here.

HALEY, 28 // MAD HATTER BAKERY - DURHAM, NC

This photo was taken just outside Mad Hatter in Durham where Evan and I had brunch with my family. I’m wearing some awesome lilac satin pants from French Connection that I thrifted from Goodwill, a sheer printed blouse from Kohl’s, and a sheer black jacket also from Goodwill.

HALEY, 28 // NC MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCES - DOWNTOWN RALEIGH, NC

I stopped by Sono this afternoon to photograph my paper cut series and couldn’t resist posing in front of the Museum of Natural Sciences for an outfit photo since it’s just around the corner. The skirt was handmade by my mother and my gauzy embroidered top was on the clearance rack at Kohl’s.

HALEY, 28 // ROSE’S MEATS & SWEETS - DOWNTOWN DURHAM, NC

My mom took this photo of me as we were walking to Alivia’s for lunch today. The Dead Kennedy’s t-shirt is Evan’s, the sequined flats were a birthday present from (and thrifted by) the lovely Lydia. My sunglasses are from Design Archives in Greensboro, my scarf is from Target, and my knit alpaca bag is from Exotique in Durham.

HALEY, 28 // MAESTRO & MUSE STUDIO - RALEIGH, NC

I love this t-shirt - I must have gotten it back in 2006 or so when Evan and Caleb had a radio show together at WUAG. My wrap skirt and boots were thrifted from Goodwill in Cary, NC. Now that my work is up at Sono, I’m hoping I’ll have a little more free time to snap outfit photos somewhere other than my house, so stay posted!

HALEY, 28 // MAESTRO & MUSE STUDIO - RALEIGH, NC

Evan took this photo of me in my home studio this afternoon.  I’ve been super busy all week getting my artwork ready for the show at Sono and Evan was slammed at work too, so we took the weekend off to relax at home together. I love that pretty dresses like this make you seem so put together when really all you’ve done is throw on a single item of clothing - so effortless! This lovely vintage dress is from www.niftythrifty.com and the sandals are from Target.

HALEY, 28 // MAESTRO & MUSE STUDIO - RALEIGH, NC

Evan took this photo of me at home today - I’m counting the whole house as my studio now since my work usually ends up anywhere and everywhere, despite his best efforts. My vintage Mexican print skirt is from Design Archives in Greensboro. The top was thrifted in Durham and the shoes were purchased from Target several years ago. You can find a close up of my rings over at maestroandmuse.com!

HALEY, 28 // ED MCKAYS - RALEIGH, NC

Evan took this photo of me last night while we were browsing the aisles at Ed McKay’s for used books and movies. We ended up leaving with five Zatoichi films and the first English printing of The Plague by Camus. Everything I’m wearing is secondhand: the boots from Goodwill in Cary, the dress from Salvation Army in High Point, the velvet jacket from Evan, and the brass cuff from his mother.

HALEY, 28 // MAESTRO & MUSE STUDIO - RALEIGH, NC

I took this photo here in my studio this afternoon while working on some paper cuts for my show at Sono in downtown Raleigh. You can check out my work in progress on my personal blog at Maestro & Muse. The cats love to nap in the studio since it’s always bright and sunny in there during the day - that’s Darby in the chair.  I’m wearing a crazy jungle print top (with panthers) and macrame belt, both thrifted locally.

HALEY 28 // BRIGHTLEAF SQUARE - DURHAM, NC

I took this photo in Durham this afternoon after hanging out with my mom in Trinity park. This is one of the back entrances to the shops in Brightleaf Square just a few blocks away. The awesome zig-zag print pants are from Charlotte Russe, and the ruffled pom pom wrap top was thrifted in Cary. I’m also wearing the necklace I picked up from the International Festival in Raleigh a few weeks ago - made in Tunisia - and another handmade wrap ring from my line Maestro & Muse.

HALEY, 28 // BLOUNT STREET DECK - RALEIGH, NC

I took this photo as I was leaving the parking deck between Blount and Wilmington Streets this afternoon. These are almost definitely kid’s sunglasses but they’re my favorites (I have quite a collection) and the only ones that fit my face. My scarf is from Target and the umbrella from Scientific American belonged to Evan’s grandfather. It’s covered in tiny raindrops filled with “H2O”
